Hospitals, schools, State Agencies and local authorities are all facing strike action from today.
The work-to-rule by members of SIPTU, which today includes 30 hospitals including St Luke’s General Hospital for Carlow and Kilkenny, is aimed at getting the government to agree a new public-sector pay deal, after the last one expired in June.

Overall, SIPTU’s Brendan O’Brien says its impacting over 70,000 of its members.
