Six arrested in connection with illegal manufacture & trafficking of medicines

Six men have been arrested in a Garda operation into the illegal manufacture and trafficking of medicines.

All six were detained in the south east of the country following searches over the past year which have uncovered factories in which medicines and other controlled substances were made in counties Kilkenny, Tipperary, Limerick and Galway/Roscommon.

The men – aged in their mid 20s to their mid 40s – were arrested in Kilkenny, Glenmore, Bennettsbridge, Carlow, Lismore and Waterford this morning.

They are being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a number of Garda stations across the south east.
