Slow down and be safe on roads this Bank Holiday Weekend

Take personal responsibility and be compliant on the roads to ensure your own safety and that of other road users.

Thats the message from Gardai as you take to the roads this Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

3 people lost their lives on the same weekend last year.

Nearly 45-thousand penalty points notices were issued for speeding in the first three months of the year – up by 16 per cent on last year.

Gardai say they catch most offenders in urban areas – where there is a heightened risk of pedestrian casualties.

Regional Traffic Superintendent Pascal Connolly told KCLR news that being compliant will reverse any emerging trends.  garda-car1
