SOS residents in Kilkenny to move as current site is up for sale

SOS Kilkenny residents on the Sion Road in the city will soon be moving homes.
A number of residents of the local service – which cares for people with intellectual disabilities – are currently staying in a property leased from the Diocese of Ossory.
However, that 14 acre site has been put up for sale by the Diocese for 2 point 5 million euro.
It includes the former residence of the bishop as well as ancillary buildings.
Lisney estate agents have told KCLR News that they’re targeting the sale at developers as planning permission has already been granted for 27 new housing units on the site.
A property has now been purchased by the SOS in a separate area of the city in anticipation of this move.
