Work on the South Kilkenny Greenway is set to ramp up in the next few weeks.
Councillors from the Piltown Municipal District met yesterday where they were told that the project has been broken up into several different contracts.
Tenders have been awarded for a Tipperary contractor Glas Civil Engineering to start work at either end – starting in Ferrybank and in New Ross.
The Greenway is due to be finished next year and Cathaoirleach of the Piltown District Pat Dunphy says it’s great to see progress.
He says “You’re going to see a lot of work starting there very soon. So it is moving ahead at a good pace. It is a good project so it’s good to see that happening”
