US President Barack Obama has name-checked a Carlow woman in his weekly address from the White House.
Ann Dermody who lives now in Virginia wrote a letter to the President after getting her citizenship last March.

She was contacted by Mr Obamas staff asking if he could publicly quote from it.
And this weekend as he recognised Immigrant Heritage month he did just that…….
