Speed limit reduction on County Carlow road doesn’t appear to be having the desired effect

The speed limit reduction on a notorious road in Carlow road has being described as “more dangerous” by a local councillor.

The N80 is waiting on an upgrade which could take 7-8 years and to curb the number of fatalities and serious collisions on the route in December the limit was reduced along the stretch from 100km an hour to 80.

Cllr John Cassin says that move doesn’t seem to be achieving what it set out to after he himself was recently overtaken by other motorists.
