Four regional roads in Kilkenny are to see their speed limits drop from 100km an hour to 80 later this year.
The R639 from Urlingford to Cullohill, the R448 from Paulstown to Carlow, the N10 from Kilkenny to Paulstown and the R723 from Glenmore Roundabout to New Ross will all be subject to the measure.
Cllr Ger Frisby told KCLR News that reducing the limit from Glenmore to New Ross made sense; “That’s badly needed to realign everything, bring it all back into together so the 80 kilometres is welcome for that.”
“Like as I said it’s a kind of an anomaly section of road there. It’s good news that that will be coming back into 80 in the review, just makes it much safer.”
