St Luke’s General Hospital for Carlow and Kilkenny’s to get a new family room as part of measures to help improve end-of-life care for patients.

The hospital and the Susie Long Hospice Fund team have entered a new five-year agreement in memory of the Kilkenny-based woman and campaigner on the 16th anniversary of her death.

Her husband Conor Mac Liam explains how the new services will work:

“We are providing a new family room to provide services for people who are at the end of life. So having a family room which allows relatives and friends and family and so on of the people who are at end of life to come in and meet with them is a bonus.”
