A Carlow woman is preparing this morning to welcome President Michael D Higgins to her place of work in London.
Its Day 2 of the Presidents State visit to Britain – at last nights State Banquet the Queen said the Irish and British are becoming ‘good and dependable neighbours and better friends’ while President Higgins says ‘we have moved on from a past of trouble to one of mutual respect & close friendship’.
Josie Gladney from St Mullins is Matron at University College Hospital in London where the President will visit this morning.
She told KCLR it will be an honour to greet him as he visits her ward.
