Gardaí have announced the locations of nine static speed safety cameras, which are aimed to be fully operational by the end of this year.
Carlow and Kilkenny feature in the plans. The locations were chosen based on fatal and serious injury collision data from the last seven years.
The N25 between Glenmore and Luffany will have a static camera installed as will Carlow’s N80, between Barristown and Levitstown.
The cameras are funded from the Garda budget at a total overall cost of approximately €2.4 million.
