Part 1 – 10.00 – 11.00
First up was Acting Director of Kilkenny County Council, Simon Walton, to
clarify issues surrounding planning permission for the CAS. A caller,
Margaret O’Brien then challenged the council’s claims. Registrar for IT
Carlow, David Denieffe, talked about the excitement on campus as the
Transport Minister launched their new Centre for Aerospace Engineering!
Independent Councillor in Kilkenny, Breda Gardner, also joined the
conversation about the CAS. Breda Bergin of Carlow Citizens’ Information
was up next. Gavin O’Donnell told us all about Safer Internet Day and
encouraged parents across the two counties to participate in their survey.
Part 2 – 11.00 – 12 noon
Founder of ‘To Russia With Love’, Debbie Deegan was in after the news with
Bridget O’Dea who is also travelling to Russia. Junior Labour Minister Ann
Phelan told us how she would be voting in tonight’s Abortion bill. TD Pat
Deering talked about Carlow’s Tourism Forum. And Carmel Wall informed us
about the Miss Callan Rose 2015 competition she organised to raise funds
for the Callan Great War Memorial Committee who are trying to erect a
plaque in the town.
