Talks look set to re-open on the South East University proposal.
The respective governing bodies of IT Carlow and Waterford IT have met in recent days and both have agreed to re-enter the discussions.
It follows the publication of a report back in July which recommended the 2 institutes would re-engage in the process.
South Kilkenny based Dáil Deputy John Paul Phelan says this is positive but admits there’s still a long way to go.
