Taylorfest celebrates the life of William Desmond Taylor, one of Hollywood’s greats – unknown to me before tonight – a filmmaker, director, head of the screen guild and more besides. Oh, and he was from Carlow. Taylorfest celebrates the best of the silent movie era and spans Culture Night and into this Saturday and Sunday in Carlow. With premiere screenings at the GB Shaw Theatre, festival organiser Marc-Ivan O’Gorman joined me on the phone for a chat about the festival and the life and times of Taylor.
