TD Kathleen Funchion says childcare package in Budget 2017 doesn’t go far enough

Kathleen Funchion says the government’s childcare package in the Budget isn’t going to have any real effect.

The local TD is Sinn Fein’s spokesperson on Children.

The main part of it – the Affordable Childcare Scheme – is only for children from 6 months to 3 years where the combined household income doesn’t exceed €47,500.

Deputy Funchion told KCLR News it doesn’t go far enough to make a real difference.
