Over 12,000 meals made up of surplus stock have been donated by Tesco in Carlow to local charities in the past 7 months.
That’s according to Independent dot i-e which reports that since the launch of their FoodCloud Partnership last July, local causes including those tackling homelessness and charities such as Meals on Wheels have benefited from the weekly donations.
The Chief Operating Officer with Tesco Ireland, Geoff Byrne has described the initiative as being “hugely rewarding”.
