Lots of positivity in Carlow and Kilkenny this week.
Great news from insurance company UNUM Ireland which announced 40 new positions at its software centre in Carlow.   It brings to 112 the number of people employed at the business based at Shamrock Plaza. 

Kilkenny Motor Show
Excitement too for the eight local motor dealers who organise the annual Kilkenny Motor Show which takes place at Cillin Hill each November.  The event won the Enterprise and Innovation accolade at the Society of Irish Motor Industry awards last Thursday.  Kilkenny SIMI Chairperson Kevin Morrissey of Morrissey Motors and Denis Lahart of Laharts Garages were in studio to talk about the award and the show as well as the motor industry.  The event returns later this year – keep an ear on KCLR for details and see here

 

Tom Molloy touched on that industry when he spoke to us last week and this time around his focus was on the Italian Election and its impact on the stock markets, the UK’s triple A downgrade,
