Business confidence is on the “up”! That’s according to the results of the South East Business Confidence Survey just released by Market Dynamics.
Its only really when you look at the depths of the lack of business confidence that we endured during the 2009/10 that these small green shoots of recovering confidence are put into context (see the graph below)
Have Melcorpo “hit the jackpot” ?
The news today that An Bord Pleanala has granted permission for a family entertainment centre in High Street Kilkenny to a company called Melcorpo was described as “astonishing” by Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce who along with many Councillors and local traders have been implacably opposed to the project which was initially denied permission by Kilkenny Borough Council. Melcorpo say it’s going to be a family entertainment centre while opponents are branding it a veritable “den of iniquity” with dire predictions of gambling and anti – social behaviour. Time will tell …..
