Tom Molloy reckons that the two things that people abroad most associate with Ireland are Guinness and ……. Ryanair’s flamboyant Boss Michael O’ Leary. This fascinating claim came as we discussed the news that Ryanair are poised to ink a deal with Boeing that will see the Irish based airline buy a whopping 200 jets worth in the region of €18billion. Wow. That’s an ambitious expansion.
Speaking of ambitious expansions and companies that are doing well in international markets we came closer to home to hear about Callan Bacon, the company named by Deloitte as one of Ireland’s best managed companies. Paul Walshe the Business Development Manager for the Callan company, which is one of Kilkenny’s largest employers, spoke of how they have doubled their turnover in the last three years and how the company has great potential for expansion in the years ahead.
