The Hayes-Leslie Group features Tommy Hayes and Ian Leslie, 2 former students from the University of Limerick School of World Music, both of whom have wide and diverse musical pedigrees.
They released their debut album “Almost Home” a number of years ago which was very well received. For a variety of reasons they’ve only started touring the album and will be in Kilkenny at the Hole In the Wall on Friday, August 7th and then later in the month will perform at the Body And Soul Stage at Electric Picnic.
Their touring band (with Tommy, Ian, Carl Corcoran and Isaac Hayes) now features Kilkenny singer Marie Glynn who brings a jazz tinged sound, as well as other musical influences).
We chatted to Ian and Marie about the group, the making of the album and the latest tour.
