In this week’s Glanbia Farm Show Matt spoke to Paddy Phelan, CEO of 3CountiesEnergy about the potential of bioenergy production and the role of farmers as sequesters of carbon. Paddy was recently elected president of IrBEA, the bio-energy association.
With the continuing drought, farmers, including Willie Harper and Paul Bowden, told Farmshow listeners about how they are managing their farms and livestock as grass growth slows down.
William Trousdell spoke about the Keenan online sale during June and also chatted about his home farm on the Castlecomer plateau.
Grace O’ Dwyer told the Farmshow about Glanbia’s continuing support for breast cancer research through the promotion of pink plastic sales for use as silage bale wrap.
Both Eric Driver and George Candler gave reports from Tullow and Kilkenny marts, respectively. Both marts are now combining online and ringside sales of livestock.
