Martin Ryan of Glanbia explained the significance of the European award given to Glanbia and Kepak for the Twenty20Beef Club initiative. He outlined the economic benefits of participation in dairy calf to beef enterprises.

Ann Callanan and Noel O’ Brien of Ballyfoyle Show highlighted a fundraising initiative for local charities involving a cowpat competition. Ann lamented the cancellation of the Ballyfoyle Show for the second year because of Covid.

Eric Driver reported on livestock prices at Tullow Mart and Michael Lynch manager of Kilkenny Mart discussed the rise in cattle prices while also reporting on a very large sale of cattle at excellent prices at Cillin Hill this week.
