First tonight, the conclusion of negotiations on the next CAP were discussed with Pat O’ Toole of the Irish Farmers Journal. Pat confirmed that discussions will now shift to Ireland on how the new system will be implemented for Irish farmers.

Jim and Mary Healy are owners of the Tullow based Chocolate Factory. They spoke to Matt about the impact of Covid on their business. They also outlined how their rural based business uses locally sourced ingredients for their chocolate and ice-cream products.

Tim Ashmore, principal of Kildalton Agricultural College confirmed that this is the fiftieth year of Kildalton’s existence as an agricultural education centre. He invited people to visit the college in a series of Open days planned for the coming months.

George Candler outlined the state of play in livestock prices in Kilkenny Mart and we heard from Eric Driver in a mart report from Tullow.
