On this week’s Glanbia Farm Show Thomas Duffy, president of Macra na Feirme outlined the various training courses the organisation offers through its SkillsNet programme. Thomas also talked about the need to ensure that young farmers are fully catered for in the transition to a new CAP.

Sean Cummins of The Greenacres Dairy calf to beef programme confirmed that the enterprise is capable of making a margin for beef farmers doing the job well.

Marian Dalton, a farmer based near Borris, described the lambing season on the Dalton farm and emphasised the environmental awareness of farmers.
