Sean Finan, CEO of the Bioenergy association chatted to Matt about delays in rolling out a viable methane production policy as well as highlighting the role of farmers in supplying new gas production facilities.
Matt met John Mahon, Teagasc tillage advisor, at the Johnstown Castle Open Day earlier in the week and discussed the low carbon output figures of Irish grain production. John also mentioned an Open Evening next Wednesday on Don Somers tillage farm at Oylgate, Co. Wexford.
Matt then caught up on quite exciting technology at the Open Day used to measure soil gas emissions. He also brought listeners up to date on Tirlán’s decision to sell some of its Glanbia Plc shareholding to fund its diversification strategy.
Eric Driver delivered a sheep sales report while George Candler was on hand to discuss livestock price trends.
