The last Farm Show of 2024 featured a panel of speakers including Ann-Marie Butler, Head of Education at Teagasc, Maeve Dineen of Coolgreany Consulting, George Candler, Auctioneer, Niamh Sheehy, Kilkenny City Macra chairperson and Sue Nunn of KCLR.
The conversation ranged across a myriad of topics including mental health, working from home, farming prospects across the sectors and Christmas plans.
The panel also reviewed several books of agricultural interest that would make great Christmas presents, including Soil Matters – the Story of Science at Johnstown Castle, Cottage Industry in post-medieval Ireland and Irish Food History – a Companion.
Niamh Sheehy highlighted a Christmas concert organised by Macra in St Mary’s Cathedral on Friday 20th December in aid of the Make the Moove mental health initiative.
George Candler and Eric Driver completed their livestock reporting for 2024.
