Fairtrade Fortnight

is underway and continues until March 10 with a wide variety of events taking place across the country

locally special guest Martha Lunji from Malawi will address transition year students at IT Carlow on Thursday, March 7, from 1:30pm while that evening from 7pm the Cathedral Parish Centre, Carlow hosts an information evening and school art competition prize-giving.

Ade was joined by some people to talk about some of the events, in particular Cotton On To Fairtrade, photography exhibition by Sean Hawkey which features cotton farmers in Senegal.   Including Mairead Bonnar at Waterford IT who spoke about the exhibition’s stint there from 11am on Monday, March 4 as part of the education facility’s celebration of ten years as a Fairtrade College.

Also on this week’s show we heard about the Rio Carnival 

While music ranged from Samba to Senegalese.
