Dicksboro secured their third JJ Kavanagh & Sons U21 A Kilkenny title in four years with a 3-21 to 1-14 victory over James Stephens at UPMC Nowlan Park.
The club now holds every Roinn A title from U14 to U21, highlighting the strength of their underage teams.
Cillian Hackett praised the team’s response to pressure during the game, saying,
“The Village came at us strong, and it could have gone either way. Thankfully, when they got their purple patch, we responded with a couple of points, kind of drove the nail in the coffin, but it’s a great win.”
He acknowledged recent setbacks for the club at senior level but sees this as a motivator
“There is hurt in this club, but we’re going to use that as a motivator for the next couple of years at senior. The tide will come, it will come our way, and there’s more success for this club.”
