A 92 year old Kilkenny woman who jumped out of a plane for charity says her family thought she was “bonkers”.

Based in Donegal for years, Kathleen ‘Kay’ Sinclair neé Gaffney is originally from Tullaroan and is  related the famous GAA Walsh family there, including former senior hurlers Tommy, Pádraig & Shane, sister Grace and their father Michael, himself a hurling star with Tullaroan.

Many of the wider family were on site in County Offaly on Saturday when Kay jumped 15,000 feet out of a plane in aid of Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland.  on the anniversary of her son Michael who died on the 20th of July in 1987.

Speaking on the KCLR Daily she said she didn’t have much choice when she heard the date of the dive.

Kay joined Alan O’Reilly to chat about her local roots and her experience jumping 15,000ft from a plane …
