More local towns might be getting a facelift next year

Towns and villages like Thomastown, Ballyhale and Inistioge could be in line for a face-lift next year if a motion is passed this week.
This year the ‘Paint The Town Schemes’ was piloted in Callan and Graiguenamanagh which saw the council fund 50% of the costs of painting their business and shop fronts.
Councillor Peter Chap Cleere is calling for this initiative to now be extended to include all towns and villages in the districts of Kilkenny East and West.
That motion will go before the council at their meeting this Friday.
Councillor Cleere says he believes it was very successful in the two pilot areas.
