Tipperary TD says people in North Kilkenny may not vote in next general election following proposed move to North Tipperary constituency

A Tipperary TD says many in North Kilkenny may not vote in the next General Election.
It comes as the electoral commission has decided that areas around Urlingford, Johnstown, Freshford, and Tullaroan should be transferred into a new three-seat North Tipperary constituency.
Carlow and the rest of Kilkenny will remain together as a five-seater constituency.
Independent Tipperary TD Michael Lowry says many in North Kilkenny are feeling “alienated”:
“People in Urlingford, in Johnstown, Freshford, and Tullaroan they’re entitled to be angry. And I’ve always known that Kilkenny is a strong, proud, and united county. And it’s inevitable that 6,500 people across West Kilkenny will now feel alienated and so disillusioned that many may not vote in the next election.”
