Tipperary TD wishes Phil Hogan well in Europe but still wants clarification on Irish water set-up spend

There’s calls today on the Taoiseach to urge Phil Hogan to clarify the extent to which he knew about the consultancy fees paid during the set up of Irish water.

Independent Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath was speaking to KCLR news today as the former Environment Minister prepares for his hearings in the European Parliament later this week.

Its fully expected he will be ratified as the new European Commissioner for Agriculture.

And despite his reservations Deputy McGrath says he hopes Phil will do a good job there.
