Tír na nÓg: Parents appeal for help as Carlow respite services closes its doors

Parents in Carlow are appealing for help after a respite service providing care to their children closed its doors.

Tír na nÓg was based at a residential property in Friars Green in the town and was the only service providing respite for children aged 2-18 until its closure in mid December.

Permission has already been granted for an alternative site but money is needed to get it up and running and so far the HSE has not been forthcoming with the necessary funding.

A parent of one of the children using Tir na nóg Helen Fahy says its very frustrating for them.
