Transport Minister asks councils to review speed limits in housing estates after “Jakes Legacy” campaign

The Transport Minister has asked councils across the country to examine speed limits in housing estates in light of meetings he’s had with a Kilkenny mother.
Roseann Brennan’s 6 year old son Jake died this year after being knocked down in his estate and she’s been campaigning ever since to have speed limits reduced and signs put up.
Today Minister Paschal Donohue wrote to councils asking them to review speed limits in estates and gave them figures from a survey carried out by his Department.
Speaking to KCLR News, Roseann Brennan says her son gave her the strength to carry out the campaign.
