Former Mayor of Kilkenny John Bolger has died.
The Wexford born man was a teacher at Kilkenny College and an elected member of Kilkenny Borough Council between 1974 and 1999.
He was also involved in Kilkenny Rugby Club and taught swimming in the River Barrow at Graiguenamanagh.
He was Mayor of Kilkenny for a short spell of just 6 weeks back in 1999.
He had been ill for some time.
