Trip to Belarus back on track for Kilkenny Chernobyl outreach group

A planned trip to Belarus is back on track for the Chernobyl Kilkenny outreach group.

Members were left devastated at the weekend when their truck loaded with goods for Chernobyl refugees was vandalised with items left damaged or stolen.

But locals have rallied around and the truck is restocked and ready to go at this stage.

Organisers have thanked everyone for their help and support.

Meanwhile a man is due in court this week – he was arrested following the incident on Sunday and charged.

Gardai are still appealing for witnesses.
