Truck-load of supplies departing Kilkenny for Belarus this week

An aid convoy is leaving Kilkenny on Friday heading to Belarus.

Three articulated trucks full of nappies, shoes, tents and other crucial items are being driven across Europe by the Chernobyl Children International charity.

They’ll be in Minsk for the 30th anniversary of the nuclear disaster after delivering the aid.

Local Volunteer Jim Kavanagh will again be driving one of the trucks and he says there’ll be a small ceremony at 3 o’clock on Friday before they leave OLoughlin Gaels
