Two Anti-CAS protestors arrested in Kilkenny

Two people were arrested at the Anti-CAS protest in KIlkenny this morning.

Both were men who are described by Gardai as being in their mid 20s.

They were arrested for public order offences as Gardai tried to escort deliveries to the construction site at Greens Bridge.

They’ve since been released without charge pending a file being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

These are the first arrests in the five weeks of the protest against the new bridge despite Gardai being deployed regularly to secure access to the site for trucks and equipment.
