20 years on from the discovery of the body of Paiche Unyolo Onyemaechi in South Kilkenny and her murder has yet to be solved.
A daughter of the then Malawian Chief Justice, the 25 year old mother of two had been living at St Herblain Park, Kilcohan, Waterford and working in Limerick, possibly in other locations across the country too.
Known also as ‘Gina’ or ‘Cassandra’, often with the surname ‘Willis’, she was reported missing by her husband, Chika Onyemaechi, on the 10th of July 2004 but the last confirmed sighting was at 5pm two days prior at Pickardstown, Co. Waterford.
Her decapitated remains were found in a field close to Brenar Bridge in Piltown two weeks later.
Nobody has ever been brought to justice for her murder.
Anybody with information who hasn’t yet come forward is asked to do so as Gardaí reiterate an appeal.
Meanwhile, her husband disappeared on the 27th of July in the same year.
The case was included in Ali Bracken’s book ‘Passport to Murder: True Stories of Foreigners Killed in Ireland’ and she joined our Alan O’Reilly on The KCLR Daily to discuss that;
