Two kayakers rescued from River Nore in Kilkenny City
The Coastguard helicopter and the fire brigade were dispatched but it was local fishermen who came to the rescue.
Two kayakers had to be rescued from the River Nore this evening (Monday).
A major rescue operation was launched when the kayakers got stuck on a weir in Kilkenny City.
The Coastguard helicopter and the fire brigade were dispatched to help.
However the unlucky kayakers was brought safely out of the water by local fishermen just before 6pm.
