Two men arrested after drone carrying suspected drugs and devices intercepted close to Portlaoise Prison

An investigation is continuing after a drone was intercepted close to Portlaoise Prison yesterday.

It was carrying a package of suspected cannabis, tablets and phones, before it was caught by Gardaí from Laois’ drugs and detective units in the afternoon.

Two men aged in their thirties and forties have been arrested and are being questioned at a Garda station in the eastern region.

Investigations are continuing.
