Two men have been arrested following a massive drugs bust off the coast of Wexford.
It’s after a boat ran aground and got stuck near Rosslare on Sunday night.
It’s believed millions of euros worth of cocaine is involved, but the operation is ongoing so Gardaí haven’t released any official details yet.
The vessel is understood to have been traveling from Castletownbere in Cork to Devon in England.
Crime and Security Editor with The Irish Times, Conor Lally outlines what is known:
“There was a surveillance operation underway because it was expected that the boat was carrying cocaine, and it was being kept a close eye on, and then it hit a sandbank off Blackwater at about half eleven. So from that point onwards, really, there was a cross between a surveillance operation and a rescue operation.”
