Two men arrested in connection with a €7.2million drugs seizure at a South East port have been released without charge.
The discovery of suspected cocaine was made at Rosslare Europort on Friday.
Both men, who are aged in their forties and fifties, who were arrested are now out of custody.
Gardaí say a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, on Saturday (10th August 2024) Gardaí assisted Revenue officers in the seizure of approximately 783 kgs of herbal cannabis and 70 kgs of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of approximately €16,086,000, also at Rosslare Europort.
The suspected illegal drugs were discovered when Revenue officers, with the assistance of An Garda Síochána, stopped and searched an unaccompanied freight unit which had disembarked a ferry.
The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
No arrests have been made at this time in relation to this finding.
