There is an increase in people working in Carlow according to the latest CSO Live Register figures.
Unemployment in Carlow is down by 21.8% with 5,867 people now signing on.
Nationally, the latest CSO Live Register figures show that the unemployment rate has dropped to 10.6% from a high of 15.1% in 2012.
Local Fine Gael TD Pat Deering says entrepreneurs, increases in jobs created in small business coupled with commuter workers are the main drivers of this increase in employment.
