UPC working with Gardai on establishing a system to ban access to child pornography

UPC says it worked closely with the Government and Gardai in the last few months to establish a system of banning access for people trying to view child pornography.

The Internet provider is to block customers who attempt to log onto websites containing child sexual abuse material – whether deliberately or mistakenly.

Gardai are to provide the company with a list of Internet addresses containing child pornography.

Head of Communications at UPC Anna Marie Barry told The Way it is on KCLR last night that a lot of work has gone into this.
