Vaccination of children against Covid 19 could start as early as next month

Vaccination of children between 12 and 15 against Covid-19 could start as early as next month.

The European Medicines Agency approved the use of the Pfizer jab for that age group in May.

The Sunday Independent reports NIAC is expected to make a decision shortly on offering it to children here.

DCU Professor of Health Systems, Anthony Staines, says under 18s will have to be vaccinated: Very high vaccination levels are needed to cover us with Delta and we are not going to achieve that coverage unless we vaccinate teenagers and children.
