Waiting game now for Thomastown community centre after Red Cross funding approved

The chairman of Thomastown community centre says they will have to wait and see now if the funding they get from the Red Cross will be enough to cover the flood damage in their hall.

Locals had to tackle more than 2 feet of water between Christmas and the New Year and the floodwaters did thousands of euro worth of damage to their brand new solid maple dance floor.

Last night the committee learned they will be eligible for the Red Cross funding announced last week but chairman Seamus Quigley says they dont know yet how much that will be
