Waterways Ireland is defending it’s plans to develop the Barrow Walk.
A spokesman has told the Sue Nunn show this moring that nothing is finalised yet as they are still in the pre-planning phase and will take all views on board.
They’re pointing to the economic benefits that a similar project in Mayo has brought there – the Greenway is believed to have created at least 38 new jobs and brought in seven million Euro.
Eanna Roe says the Save the Barrow Walk campaign against the plans are premature.
