Juvenile LEinster Finals took place in Tinryland over the weekend.
On Friday night in the Boys U17 Doubles Marc Purcell / Dion Burke (Clogh/Mothel) got Kilkenny off to a winning start when they defeated Liam Rossiter/Danny McWilliams (Wexford) in a good contest
Boys Under 12 Singles was the game of the weekend Billy Drennan (Galmoy) put in a tremendous performance to defeat a very good handballer in Mark Doyle (Wexford).
In Boys Under 13 Singles Another super performance by a very skillfull player Kyle Dunne (Clogh) proved too good for Patrick Kavanagh (Carlow)
In Boys Under 13 Doubles Jamie Maher / Jack Doyle (Clogh/Windgap) played great handball to defeat Dean O’Neill / Michael Gaynor (Wexford)
In Boys Under 15 Singles Eoin Brennan (Kells) had to be at his very best to defeat Dinny Farrell (Carlow)
In Girls Under 12 Singles Amy Brennan (Clogh ) easily accounted for local girl Katie Deane (Carlow)
In under 12 girls doubles Aine Duggan / Cliodhna O’Shea (Galmoy/Windgap) )played great handball to defeat Shauna Owley /Aoife O’Connor (Wexford)
In Girls Under 16 Doubles Sorcha Delaney/Margaret Purcell (Clogh/Windgap) defeated Laois girls Eimear Dunphy /Louise Walsh, both girls served great handball on the day.
A tremendous effort was put by all our beaten Finalists. Girls Under 17 Doubles Aine Dunne / Aoife Walsh (Windgap/Kells) put in a tremendous effort before going down in a tie break to Avril Deegan / Emily McGuigan Laois.
In Boys Under 14 Doubles Billy O’Neill / Jack Buggy (Clogh ) were defeated by Josh McMahon / Cian Kehoe (Wexford) this game could have went either way, but the Wexford lads finished stronger on the day.
In boys Under 15 Doubles Conor Drennan/Patrick Doyle (Galmoy) were dft by Colm Parnell / Ciaran Power (Wwxford). This game went to a tiebreak and could have gone either could way
In Girls Under 15 Singles Dearbhla O’Keeffe (Kilfane) was dft by Cora Doyle Wexford in a tiebreak. Dearbhail played well on the day but the Wexford girl finished stronger.
