It’s a wet and windy start to your Thursday in Carlow and Kilkenny and it looks like much won’t change for the day.
There are Status Yellow weather warnings for snow, ice and rain in place for 21 counties today – including for Carlow, with Kilkenny joining Waterford, Cork, Kerry and Limerick off the list for now.
There’s quite a bit of surface water on local roads this morning so extra care’s needed if heading out and about.
Added to that, Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly says wherever you are it’s going to be chilly noting; “A bitterly cold day with very heavy falls of rain, sleet and snow depending on where in the country you are, there will be rain in the south and the east, more sleet in the Midlands falling as snow for a time and then more likely snow in the north and north west with some accumulations of snow especially on higher ground”.
